Just wondering if the list is down? Or, did we use up all the known
FlexTrons in the universe discussing the new radios? :)

Some time ago a farewell speech by a retiring FCC person was published and I
think it was on this reflector---I might be wrong that point. Anyway, it
contained some speculation about the future of amateur radio and ended with a
rather long and encouraging assessment of software defined radio.
Lee,
I haven't found the speech you are looking for yet but I stumbled upon this
and it's wonderful:

Thank you so much! It isn't the one I was looking for but I surely did enjoy
Riley's comments! I hope others look at it, too!

Hey everyone.
Today I received my Flex Control here at home. Installed it fine, but as
the directions suggested, I ended up with a com port conflict in Windows.
Windows picked one of the same com ports already in use by my VSP emulator.
The directions say if we use a com port emulator, note all
Well I really have some choices to make this week and I'm looking for input
(or consolation if you'd like). I'm on my way to PJ4 very soon for 10 days
of vacation and operating. I always take a radio with me when we travel to
the Caribbean. I have a blast doing so. racking up lots of contacts
Do you really expect anyone on the FLEX list to tell you to take an Icom?

William,
There is a grounding screw for the 3000 right under the power connector.

I just returned 2 weeks ago from a mini DXpedition to Lesotho 7P8. I faced
the same dilemma - I usually take along a small IC-7000 on trips such as
these. But this time round I decided to take my Flex-3000. It performed
very well, and I loved to have all the features of PSDR while there.
