Picked up the tokyo hi-power HL-100bdx today. Had any one used this combo? From
what I have read many guys seem to use the RF sence for keying the amp, and
seem to think it works just fine. How about keying the amp with the PTT line
from the 1500. Worth the effort? Happy to hear any thoughts

I worked with a friend to connect one of these to his 1500. We used Pin 3
on the DB-9 connector and hard keyed the amp. This allows you to strictly
control the amp keying sequence so that the amp is fully keyed before you
start modulating the output.
His just works.

I use the HL-45B with my Flex-1500 and there is no option for RF-sensing with
the HL-45B so it must be hard keyed via the PTT line
on the Flexwire I/O interface. FWIW, I read in a forum somewhere that Tokyo
High Power recommended a 10ms Delay between triggering
PTT and application of
