Thanks, Tim. I'm with Russ at this stage. Will VU5K work with the 1500? Bob,

I disagree. There are 26 sounds in the alphabet, only 2 in code.

Maybe some of use AM sometimes because it's fun. Maybe we get on with SSB most
of the time because there's more stations and it's fun. Sometimes lots of guys
dig the challenges of CW because it's fun. Sometimes technical discussions go
on and on and on and it's not fun, just boring after awhi
Just answered my own Q. HBC = Homebrew Challenge.
So many acronyms fly across here, i don't think hardly think them through

Do you have a link for the HBC amp? I've looking for something around 100
watts for my 1500. Thanks for any help. Bob, NZ5A

I thought I would need one of those when I first bought my 1500A. But after
using a mouse and the various freq controls on the keyboard for going on three
months now, I decided I didn't need it after all. It was merely my initial
fear of 'what, no knobs at all? yikes!

I found a 405 and matching PS this summer at Austin Summerfest. It's a good
little and gives all the power I need. Runs with my Argo 509, HW-8, and K2 as
well as the 1500. Gives reduced power on WARC band but greater than the K2's 10
watts or the Flex's 5.
