I'm still reloading software after my OS upgrade to Windows 7 , 64 bit.
In trying to import the Contour ShuttlePro 2 preference file I
downloaded from the Flex Radio web site the ShuttlePro control panel (v

If this is repetition of a well documented subject, please send me the
knowledge base links I need to help with this transition. I am in the
process of upgrading my OS from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7, 64 bit, which
means a custom "clean sweep" installation. What PowerSDR 2.5.3 files do

OK, sorry I didn't recognize the call. But it was very nice to have a CW
contact with the Flex Radio company station K5FRS on 6 meters today!

During the rather strong opening on 6 meters last night I managed to
make my first Flex 5K - to - Flex 5K QSO on 6 meter AM! After calling CQ
a few times on 50.400 MHz station KR7O, Robert near Fresno, California
answered. Both of us were running barefoot with about 26-30 watts
carrier out. Wit
With the new version of PowerSDR 1.18.2 and its XML database, is it
recommended to use the "import database" function in the software when
upgrading from version 1.18.1 to version 1.18.2? I know in versions
before 1.18.1 that used the old Access database it was recommended to
create a fresh dat

Updated last night to the latest PowerSDR software 1.18.1 and the latest
1.3.06 firmware for my Flex 5000A. Ran the RX level and image
calibration tests and everything passed (of course with new database).
No problems detected so far except noise blanker performance doesn't
seem to be as good a
the picture and lets you see the improvement in
RX noise figure.

Purchased an Advanced Receiver Research model P50VDG preamp for my Flex

to connect the preamp in the RX1 loop. I read the KB article on the
antenna setup for using the RX1 loop and have that setup per the

The firmware and PowerSDR v1.16.1 upgrades went without a hitch here,
but I was surprised to see only two TX Profiles listed. No biggie, as I
didn't use most of the ones listed in the previous versions of PowerSDR
and I was able to reconstruct the ones I normally used. I had power

Loaded firmware upgrade v. 1.2.2.0, power cycled all systems and
received no RF on any bands. Loaded firmware again, same result.
Reloaded v.1.2.1.10, Flex 5000A works fine again. Running latest Power
SDR software and Firewire drivers on a Vista home edition pc.

Last night I loaded the new driver, firmware and software upgrades for
my Flex 5000A onto my Vista SP1 machine. The only problem I ran into was
that I had to reload the Firewire driver twice, but I believe this was
due to interference from my anti-spyware software (second time I had the

I notice that when I use the record and play buttons on PowerSDR the
passband of the playback is offset by a few kHz and I have to retune the
5000A receiver to hear it correctly. But when I use the regular "record"
button in the wave form menu it plays back right on frequency without

I came across an interesting commentary on the probable demise of DRM
