May I extend this frequently asked question by: I the Flex5k still an
open software SDR? (I might mention that I bought the 1k only because it
has open software. I would certainly buy a not open software rig.)

I have the same connection setup with a Heil HC-4 in a head set. With
the SENS-poti on the FA-66 180° from zero, no problem.

While following the interesting discussion of possible improvements on
frequency stability, I think of the concept used in my aged Kachina.
This is also an SDR and is stable to better then 1 Hz as soon you are
able to measure after turning it on. Which in my case was about 20 secs.
Kachina just
In short: Windows is really a blessing to everybody who wants to do real
things with it, appart from writing letters, is'nt it?

I don't dare to ask, but: is the power there in the radio? I had the
same when this was not the case.

Dana,
the SDR-1000 has the lowest noise floor you can expect from a radio. I
am evaluating this radio and compare it with my Kachina and the
measurement results of other leading radios. I wonder what you mean with
the sampling rates you mention for the FA-66. The figures you name are
Baud rates
Ken,
I have not tried it, but I could'nt believe that anyone sells a radio
these days in this voltage range that does not accept anything between
12 and 13.8 Volts. The nominal 12 V car battery - the origin of this
voltage standard - has these 12 V when used a short time without
loading, it ha
Mark,
I'm planning to install an RX only antenna. I will have a relay to
detach and ground this antenna, if the TX signal of one of the stations
goes active. This implies two things: the TX active signals have to
appear earlier than the HF power - which is the case with both the
SDR-1000 and th
Hi,
since January 17, 16:35 UTC, I receive every Reflector mail twice. I
have no idea, how it comes or why. Other mailes come in normally.
