i'll also throw in a griffin usb knob and a set of creative labs CB2530
bluetooth headphones.
i made a cable to key up
i've been using this mic http://www.shinybox.com/ on my SDR-1000. it's
ribbon mic so the output is pretty low. i boosted it up with an ART Tube Pac
tube preamp, it probably isnt needed but it is a cool toy.
http://www.zzounds.com/item--ART131 it also provides a knob to keep my mind
occupied.
i use a commander HF2500 magnum with my SDR-1000. the SDR-1000 runs along at
15 - 20 watts to get legal limit out on the amp depending on band.
in the end, i shelved my 2 ameritrons, an AL80A and an AL-1500, the AL80

my only comment on this is that i havent seen a 5V design in a few years!
i'm doing an OC-768 fgpa job for a line rate frame analyzer that uses 800
millivolts for chip I/O and 400 millivolts for the core supply.
i really miss the days were we needed 6.3 vac for filaments, 350 volts dc
and
