Re: [Flexradio] Flex 5000 Value

2015-03-02 Thread Richard Solomon
One thought ... if Flex released the software then some enterprising chap might take on upgrading it. But I doubt that will happen. Therefore, I predict the 5000's will continue to decline in value. Perhaps in the future they will be looked on as historical artifacts. 73, Dick, W1KSZ On

That's the beauty of a free market system. Some like it (buyers), some don't (sellers). Wait a couple of months are post it again, someone may yet have the urge. The 5000A the previous gentlemen wrote about seemed to be a reasonable buy at the $1,500 level. 73, Dick, W1KSZ On 3/1/2015 12:05

You might also look into the Pennant antenna. I had a K9AY HB version up and took it down in favor of the Pennant. I have two up, pointed NE and SW. 73 es HH, Dick, W1KSZ On 12/21/2013 11:30 AM, GARY HUBER wrote: You may notice significant reduction in signal strength when using the K9AY Loop

RbO's are nice, but they have to be tweaked every so often. Not so with a GPSDO. The simplest way is to get a Trimble Thunderbolt. They have been as low as $75 over on the evil empire (I bought two at that price). You do need an external antenna, but you need an even bigger one for the radio !!
