I'm using the Heil Proset with Yaesu adapter and Heil footswitch on my 5000A.
Works fine!

I have also had intermittent auto tuning with my 5K. Sometimes fails to match,
and another try or two finally matches with low SWR.
Using 1.18.3 with current firmware and driver.
Very frustrating.

BTW: I 'cheated' when I 'set up' my PC for the 5000a! I bought it from Neal!
Reading all the threads of various 'hiccups' with various PCs, I can tell you I
am very happy I went to Neal. No problems to report!
