Harold,
In my FLEX-5000, the rushing sound you describe was due to a small amount of
RFI, not enough to cause oscillation, but enough to cause bad-sounding
audio. Like you, I cured my RFI problems by replacing the Firewire cable

Harold,
Make sure that you have the Leveler in the Setup menu => DSP => AGC/ALC
unchecked. This will automatically drive the gain up without any audio
applied, this maybe the rushing that you noticed.. Also with no audio
(mic gain at "0" ) you should not have any RF output indicated in
-30 with zero mic gain and -13 with full gain.
you cab also see the Gate level go up high. This has been like this since day
1 but I just made a contact today. I could never make the Gate work because
the level was so high.

Tim,
As I stated he mention the rushing noise and some static.
I just reloaded the firmware from the web sit and still have the problem.
I am also running the latest SDR from the site.
This is starting to sound like a hardware problem since I reloaded everything?

What was the audio complaint?
What version of PowerSDR are you using?
