CWskimmer shows the call signs across a wide bandwidth. Try running
Fldigi in CW mode, and narrow the receiver bandwidth to hear a single clear
signal. Much simpler than trying to select what is happening.

Bill, others are going to give you far more erudite answers but my
impression after fiddling with lots of various 3rd party software add-ons
is that CAT control is just temperamental and a bit flakey. I don't know
whether this is coming from the radio or from the software or from some
evil miscomb
