They really have grown, staffing-wise as well as expertise-wise, in the last
two years.
Those of us in this area of the hobby remember back 3+ years concerning Flex
and they have dramatically changed.

I agree, Flex has stopped being a Software Radio company.
They need a bunch of SW/DSP gurus on the payroll, and not simply rely on
the free gratis of the the brain trust of Bob M and Frank B.
