You are probably correct, and that is the kind of support question which will come up. The document I was following was written for Ubuntu and apt-get was unable to find the correct repository as the author indicated, I suspect the repository moved or something... my notes were along the lines

Unless I'm misunderstanding your problem, I think you probably don't have the appropriate repositories set up to be searched. jack is not hard to find if you look in the right place. This is a lot easier if you use Synaptic rather than apt-get. If you look at you'll f

After all the discussion lately on the Linux options, I decided to build a dedicated Linux box to see how far things have developed in the follow our directions and you can be on the air dept... I googled a readme from maybe august or so?? of 2006. ( I do not have the link with me) I do
