I use the DXlab suite. It can be set up to transfer
spot data to the SDR and the spot data gets filled
into the log screen. It also has as map that shows
where the spots are occuring and you can filter the
data so only the information you want displayed is
displayed.

I'm using VQLog by EA6VQ, great for VHF and
above, also it's set up for propagation modes like EME, Aurora, WSJT,
etc.
