Only partially. Since the CW signal is not constant (usually the DX station
in the pileup is sending very fast) and the carrier is constant, I found
with 1.18.5 that it did

I totally agree with you Mark, it appears to me that the ANF is disabled
in CW mode in 2.0.22.
I find I can still happily read the DX station with the notch filter
removing the QRM'er and I use this facility time and time again

Wouldn't ANF notch out the signal you were trying to receive on CW?

It would. The only thing that we need on CW is the manual notch, which I
have designed, but not yet coded.
It will be in upcoming releases.
