Sid,
Problem: could not hear relay when software is started. Radio inoperative.
Findings on my rig this week:
1. XP did not identify usb to parallel driver. - (although it had been loaded.)
2. In setup GENERAL tab USB was not selected.
Unplugged usb - parallel adapter. -(computer & radio

Hi Sid,
You need to download the USB driver.
Go to http://www.flex-radio.com/Download/
Put in the username and password supplied in the SDR-1000 documentation.
Click on USB Adapter Driver... and then install it.
