First let me say that I am amazed at how well the PowerSDR software still supports the good old SDR-1000! Over the weekend I brought my 1000 out of the closet and installed PowerSDR on a fresh load of XP Pro. Everything was loaded, along with DOT NET extensions, and all updates done. The first run of PowerSDR would not find the parallel port and thus no relay click and nothing worked. I spent Saturday trying everything known to man, measuring PP voltages, connecting a printer, checking a known good cable with a Fluke a hundred times and everything was fine except the SDR-1000 would not work! Finally I loaded a second computer with a new load of XP Pro and repeated everything that I had on the first computer. It didn't work either! Finally, I loaded PowerSDR 1.18 and it worked fine and when I went back to 2.3.5, it worked! I moved all of the cables back to the original computer loaded 1.18 and that fixed it also.

I checked all known sources for 2.3.5 anomalies for the SDR-1000 install and nothing mentions a problem like this. Oh, I did this all again on a third computer and it worked the same.

It's amazing. Looking at the screen, you would not know (with some small exceptions) that you had an SDR-1000 tied to the other end instead of an SDR-5000. Absolutely amazing! --LarryW8ER
