Good tip John,
I use 57600 baud on both MixW and Power SDR. However, I found that
much too fast for Power SDR, so I insert a 10 ms delay from MixW just
before each CAT command going to the Power SDR. I have the Serial
port checker program, Checkmon, so I will run that and see if I can
pin it down.

PowerSDR and recheck it and it immediately starts communicating again. I do
