My name is John Pick. My call is KC8JRE. I live in Minford, (South Central Ohio). I plan to purchase a FLEX 5000 radio in the very near future, then upgrade to the 6K series at a later date. I was planning to go to the Shelby Hamfest in North Carolina August 31st. However, I thought I would put out a request to see if anyone in the tri-state area (Ohio, Kentucky, WVa) would be willing to show me their Flex 5000. I am trying to save myself a lot of driving. Columbus or Cincinnati Ohio area, Huntington or Charleston WVa, etc would be better for me than driving to Shelby NC. If anyone is willing to show me their radio in operation I would appreciate it. I would like to see, or better yet operate the flex radio for a short period of time before purchasing one. My schedule is pretty much open. I am retired so any day is okay with me.
