I'm a cw op. I do not operate qsk but do operate full breakin. I can copy 70-80 wpm. Unfortunately I can only remember 20 wpm of what I copied. But as for 1000 vs 5000 I found the 5k slightly better sensitivity, selectivity and as I used a WinKeyer USB connected to the key jack And WinWarbler,
