Exactly the same findings here Ed,
Any digital or prolonged SSB pushed the heat up rapidly and the Silenx fans
were unable to regulate it.
Actually the original fans are incorrectly rated... my tests show that they are
closer to 34CFM using an airflow meter.
I’ve no idea what the dBA actually

Part 2...
For the heck of it Ive ordered an audio level meter so Ill be able to make
some actual readings of audio levels when it arrives, probably next week.
I ended up using ThermaTake DuraMax6 fans myself, these are rated at 30CFM
and 32dBA this cut the noise down a fair bit but not as
Further testing results...
Out of the box Duramax 6 fans are 28CFM and 160mA @12v
Modified Duramax6 with resistor are 22CFM and 110mA @12v
Key down continuous CW testing at 10W reaches 82 Degrees C after about 10
minutes with modified Duramax 6 fans.
So I think the standard ThermalTake

Interesting info Ed, I'll have to test my fans a bit more and perhaps tweek the
resistors to keep the temp below 80.
Heres my 2c...
Ultimately the original fans have a very high output (38 cubic feet per min) at
12v (and probably even more at 13.8v). This is probably to allow for the worst
