When the rig is on, press the power button so that it is fully depressed. Wedge a wooden toothpick (or two) into the front panel chassis power switch hole between the side of the hole and the plastic power button to wedge the power button in the fully depressed position.

Now when you 13.8 VDC power supply on and off the FLEX-5000 it will also turn on and off.

WARNING: Make sure you have a very clean power supply that does not have a transient power spike or surge when you turn the 13.8 VDC supply. Any damage from this technique to the FLEX-5000 might not be covered under warranty.

This isn't necessary with the FLEX-3000 since the power button is not the "press and release" type, but the above warning is still applicable.
