I purchased a Toschiba Satellite A135-S4827 for $599 from Best Buy this afternoon. It has Windows Vista Home Premium, Intel dual-core processor T20080, 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM, 120GB (5400rpm) HDD, DVD SuperMulti (+/- double layer) drive, 15.4 " diagonal widescreen TruBrite display, 802.11 wireless-LAN. I added a wireless mouse for added flexibility
I'm using the SVN Power SDR 1422 and the FLEX-5000 operating at 192 KHz. Performance is on a par with my P4 3.2 GHz solo core HP machine. CPU% is slightly higher than the PC but I haven't optimized the laptop yet. Talk about the ultimate portable station FLEX-5000+ Super duper lap top for $3100. It doesn't get any better than this. I will have the above setup at ARRL National Convention in Huntsville next weekend. 73 John P.
