A few may be interested in my experience with WSJT. As I mentioned last week I had problems with WSJT5.9.7, it would not work correctly for more than a few seconds with my SDR1000 QRP version. . So in desperation, I have gone back to WSJT 4, which has the advantage of having the EME echo mode as well, lo and behold it works perfectly, with the SDR1000 QRP, and now has been running checking a local 2m beacon spur, for some hours.
So whatever the problem is, it would appear to be with the programming of WSJT later versions. Dave, W5UN have you had a problem with 5.9.7 apart from the VAC problem with the SDR software? Interestingly I had a problem when a slightly earlier version of 5.9.7 was released, it did not like a dual core computer, and after a while would freeze, 5.9.7 was supposed to cure that particular problem and it appears to.
