Bill.
I think if you go to General => Filters and select "Save
slicer/Display Changes" , then the next time you save a TX profile,
the setting will be saved for that profile, along with your power,
RF and Mic Gain settings.

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but by default, the first time the
console is fired up, MON is off for SSB, and on for CW. Isn't that the
functionality you're looking for?
