I've often thought a frequency undo, maybe 5-10 deep, would be 'handy'.

Before I put this in the request bin I'd like to see if either the
feature is already available or if it is attractive to others.
When in the heat of a contest it is possible to be in the wrong focus
and start typing a call or number (or whatever) intending the keystrokes
for a logger, but

No, not exactly. I find that esc only works if the new frequency hasn't
been selected yet. For instance
