I've noticed the same thing many times when working CW. Seems like there's
a sort of crosstalk with strong signals when the NB is on. I'd guess it's
some kind of AGC/NB interaction issue.
An interesting sidelight -- I've noticed my old Drake TR7 does something
very similar when its
I experienced what I thought was odd NB behavior last night. I was
working some PSK31 and noticed that the power line noise that I
thought I had gotten rid of with the NB was pulsing on and off. I
finally realized that it was going on and off with a strong signal
about 700 Hz below the
