Here's the result of using Erik's thunderstorm model:

Storm on weather radar about 15 miles out:

For these test I just made the storm an airplane, headed east at 20 knots.
That works fine, but a dedicated AIStorm would be nice.

The radar set, wxradar.xml, is slightly modified from the other one.  The
 blip is different of course, and it's rotated -90 degrees (because I drew it
 on its side in radar-misc.rgb).
