Since we're talking about it:

Is is possible to define for specific areas which materials/textures FG should use to render the ground? Something like polygons of global coordinates which say "in this area, use that material/texture for cities/forests etc."? I imagine not only different textures for different areas of the world, but also different random objects. Wouldn't it be cool to have mosques in arabia, white cubic churches with blue domes on the cycladic islands and german villages with timered houses? If this is already implemented and I just didn't notice it, regard this posting as irrelevant - otherwise as a feature request ;) (unfortunately, I don't have time to learn hacking FlightGear...I'd love to try out a few things on my own, but currently this is really not possible).
