Tested on my ubuntu amd64 vm with gcc 4.6.1, as well as regression tested
on mac os x 10.6 and windows 7 64

I did fix a lot of warnings at the time I fixed the compilation problem for
msvs compiler in 64 bits mode.
So my question would be does that STR
