I ran ./autogen.sh and then got an error message pkg-config not found.

I'm not familiar with building FluidSynth on the iPhone, but I can
probably answer some things. First off, you should probably use
FluidSynth 1.0.9. The development version (what will be 1.1.0)
currently requires libglib, which I don't think is available for the
iPhone.
