cage did speak often about the ideal society
where unemployment reigns (and possibly as a
buddhist ideal). again, an "ideal". as for him

Dont think this is a good idea for a real life human beings. In real life
you have to decide and make mistakes etc.. take part in politics.

Has anyone ever tried generating a mesostic poem, a la Cage? I
am having the damndest time trying to figure out how to do this -
apparently I am too visual to read about it, and figure it out,
or my brain cells aren't up to it - I want a diagram, who knows?

A poet named Meikal And from Wisconsin last year wrote a series of
"Mesostics for Dick Higgins" using words from Higgins' FOEW. They have
been published in magazines and I think also on the web, but the URL for
his website at the moment escapes me. He's also a former Fluxlist person

Miekal And is active on some other lists. I have
to say to Patricia that I wouldn't recommend the
"...Higgins" work if you're interested in
examples of mesostics. A while back, Miekal And
and I had "discussions" about this (more - a
debate). I stated that they weren't mesostics.

In "Beach Event" in the summer of 1972
my band Muttations
took a power lead and our instruments to the beach
we then used "found" beachstuff to play music
encouraging children to play the drums by bouncing beach balls on them
throwing sand at the guitar strings
playing the guitars with driftwood
Good news - my on-going task to read and file the 1000+ mainly unread
