I wonder if you can help answering my question or point me to some related 
resources.

We have developed some applications on Linux Redhat 7.1. Now we want it to 
be in Chinese version. All we did is replacing the menu text in XHPDP and 
.menu_text.dat in to Chinese. And specific some Chinese TTF for them. The 
application was partly displaying Chinese OK but whenever when it needed to 
display both Chinese and English (ASCII) in the same field, you could not 
see the English (ASCII). I think it is down to we specified the fonts in 
Big5 Chinese encoding. Can you help us on how to display both Big5 Chinese 
and ASCII English on the application.
