I wrote some of the code whilst working at my current employer, however a significant amount was completed in my own time subsequent to them donating the code to SourceForge - at this time I was the sole developer so no other ICLA's should be required.
They agreed to the donation so that it would have a chance of being included in the main FOP trunk, but also they didn't feel it was something they could or wanted to support or maintain internally. They agreed to releasing the code on the condition that any reference to the company was removed, and that they had no involvement, connection or effort in making the code open source. I took this role on in my own time with Joe when I first contacted fop-dev regarding the possibility of including it, and we decided to make it available on SourceForge.
It took a number of months to obtain agreement and it would be impossible to obtain a CCLA (this is a large and bureaucratic organisation),. As far as they are concerned they have no connection or responsibility for the code and would not sign anything - the code has no corporate ownership as it was donated to me as an individual to make available as open source.
Great news to see that it's almost there.
