Hi all,
I'm trying to use FOP to generate PDF file. I use the command line
with my own userconfig.file.
The PDF file I'm trying to produce has to display Asian fonts - Thai
font in this case. But I keep getting the error message:
[ERROR] unknown font tahoma, normal, normal so defaulted font to any

Dear All,
We have created the font matrics file with PFMReader as mentioned in the
file. We have modified the conf/userconfig.xml with the correct content the
snippet of the userconifg.xml is as follows:
But the fop is showing error "[ERROR] Failed to read font data for embedded

This is something I've also experienced but haven't taken the time to
investigate, yet. The work-around is to always embed TrueType fonts at
the moment.
If it's important to you please file a bug report in BugZilla.

Thanks for your response Markus!
Unfortunately that doesn't work as well. If I use

Hello,
I'm using fop-0.20.4 and jdk 1.4.0. I'm embedding a True Type Font into my
documents. Thats works great. Here is a snippet from my userconfig.xml file:
But if I remove the embed-file attribute I end up with an error. What is the

I can only dream that the problem is this simple:

Hi all,
I'm having a persistent and frustrating problem with font embedding.
The general problem is this: my embedded fonts are recognized and
rendered by Acrobat, but not by ghostwriter, kghostview, xpdf, Mac OS
X's Preview.app etc.
I'm running the latest version of FOP (0.20.5rc3a) on an OS X 10.
Thanks to all of you, who helped me with some very good ideas about my
embedding problem. I'm still not done with it, but it seems the problem is
rather my environment, i.e. the OC4J Container V2.0 (not sure you all know
it, though). It was "refined" by oracle, which basically

Hi,
I too have a problem embedding fop in my application.
the following code (used inside a servlet) produces a zero byte pdf-file.
xmlFile and xslFile hold an absolute Path to the input-files.

Does anyone have experience with postscript errors while printing FOP PDFs?
I thought I had seen a similar thread on the list a while back, but can't
find it in the archives.

and some SOHO postscript laser printers), but w
