Chad, one more question - what subnet the primary interface of your
discovered node is connected to, what IP address it was assigned and what
subnet have you set in the hostgroup?
These three must match, can you check this?

when a host is discovered, it should be discovered in a subnet. This is
shown on the list of discovered hosts. Do you see those set correctly?
Workaround is to have such a subnet defined so it is assigned during
discovery.

I've hit a problem with a clean foreman 1.15 install. I've used the same
installer settings as a working 1.13 and 1.14 box as this is just a test
system.
The system is a current patched CentOS 7.3 host,
The installer options for the DHCP config are as follows.

Thank you for the response, I was more trying to understand how this works,
I've had a few DHCP issues with the 1.15 install and was curious how much
direct interaction with dhcpd or the dhcpd.conf file to work out
information.

You are using Katello, so it also depends on what Environment are you
in. Environments are associated to particular Capsules, therefore if
you are installing from Env that is not on any Capsule, Foreman will
fallback to itself.

there is currently not better way of doing this, unfortunately.
Alternatively you can make custom NIC configuration in post
installation and once Puppet reports in, NICs should be created
automatically for inventory purposes.

this feature is very limited, we used to import only subnet address
and netmask, we slightly improved this and can now import range but
that's it.
But this is not important feature, simply define everything manually
and you are good to go. You do not need to do this very often. In case
