I just committed a build of PulseAudio to fl:2-devel which uses udev
instead of HAL to detect sound hardware -- please see
http://issues.foresightlinux.org/browse/FL-2599 for the gory details.
If you notice a change for the worse in how sound behaves for you,

I forgot to mention the release tracker issue, which lives at
http://issues.foresightlinux.org/browse/FL-2614. It hasn't seen any
activity yet, but please do link up any issues that you feel need to
be addressed before we can release.
