I guess that is what government is trying to promote here too right regarding CFL light bulb. It even gets printed on the electricity bill :) I heard from the month "magh" if you buy a CFL you get another one free!? LED light bulbs are great alternates but for low intensity lighting purpose only

In the UK, the government is stopping use of traditional incedescent light bulbs (i.e. normal bayonet or screw in light bulbs) and making the population use energy saving bulbs by 2011.
