one way to save your wine is
$ chmod -w $HOME/.wine
then after removing all exe stuff.
$ chmod o+w $HOME/.wine

you need to unmount all the partitions you share with windows. Also, I
guess wine wont work after you use it because wine has a copy of the
Windows and Program Files folders and the *.exe files in them will also be
removed.
