This is the summary of the meeting that we had at BVS on 28th Nov. 2008 People Present where

Shishir Jha The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss about the next AOSS training visit and planning of the future event of the FOSS Training Center. Apart from briefing of the AOSS Participant, following matter where discussed and finalized 1. A LTSP TOT will be organized soon within the 3rd week of December. The date will be finalized by Monday and call for applicants will be out by coming Wednesday. More comprehensive discussion needs to be done before all the nuances of the training is finalized. I personally request the CCC to be active soon and co-ordinate the news flow in different colleges. Also IOE and KU LTSP Veterans please get in touch as we need to sit and plan the training. 2. To formally open the FOSS Training and Research Center, a FOSS Mela is being planned which will also be conducted at the BVS Campus with in the last week of december. The primary objective of the mela will be to have an open ceremony for the center, advertise its presence, invite students from all over the city to take part and have a look at FOSS based application and Distros. Plans are to collect fund to distribute softwares (educational), Linux distros and other relevant softwares with OSS in the center. 3. From Prabin Dai's acquaintances, we have a channel in Himalayan Times which can be convinced for publication of articles to advertise FOSS based on Prabin Dai's NCP formula. So, I here upon call articles for that purpose. Please me aware that the articles will be published in National newspaper, so the article has to rightly advocate FOSS and its possibilities. Apart from this, BVS has agreed to put up posters all around the School's External Extremities advertising about the FOSS Research and Training Center. This will serve as attraction for future training which are being planned for this winter and after SLC period, targeting school students. This is what I remember, I will add on as when I remember about the other discussions of the meeting. For those who are not aware, FOSS nepal now has a training center with 24 stand alone computers at BVS. It has been funded by help nepal network, chahabhil. The main objective behind the setup of the lab is to develop and facilitate HRD for LTSP and FOSS.
