I mean you can login to your sourceforge account using the procedure
described elsewhere in the thread. Then use wget to download the fossil
sourcecode from fossil-scm.org. After unpacking the source code you can
compile it on the sourceforge server.

As a result you get a fossil executable which runs on the sourceforge
servers without error. (The one from fossil-scm.org will not work because
it is built with a newer kernel and glibc)
