You might also want to look at (fossil pull). "sync" pushes and pulls,

I've found the appropriate response finally:
1/ In most cases :
fossil pull
OR
fossil pull --user aFossilValidUser
2/ For those who own a server and do want to pull AND push :
fossil sync
OR
fossil sync --user aFossilValidUser
Note that, "fossil update -n" do nothing of course... :-)

'fossil update -n' will just show you what would change if you ran fossil
update.
