Hi!
I have used FrameMaker and ClearCase before. I don't particularly see a
need to link together all the files in a book within ClearCase, unless
you're going directly from ClearCase to FM or invoking ClearCase from FM
itself. Of course, you have to treat FM files as binary; you can't
compare

Hi Kai,
The only way I know to do this is with FrameMaker's unstructured interface
and the F_ApiOpen command. There is a parameter for stripping the structure
and opening the document unstructured. Here is the equivalent FrameScript
command:
Set sDoc = 'C:\DATA\Scripts\canada.fm';

Hi all,
Maybe I'm missing something, and then again, maybe I'm not. I too have
always considered it a strange paradox when I see the words "This page

In every organization I have worked with, we have used the convention of

Thanks for your two cents' worth, Richard. I agree. It's likely that our
vendor docs will periodically update. So given our present
configuration, a page-by-page, non-batch import probably isn't feasible.

Thanks to all who replied both on- and off-list. I'm so excited! The
reference page solution was perfect. I need to learn more about reference

beautiful. I'm so excited about it!

Has anyone used Framemaker for the purpose of generating a complete

Applying formats...
I maintain a chapter template file (actually two templates, one for
fully-numbered content chapters and one for front matter & Prefaces)
separate from all books and make tag modifications and additions in
those.
When I need to make a change, I apply the template file to either

Too often readers will suspect that there was a printing error if
there isn't SOME content on the page. Having headers and footers on
the page with no text between them only makes this type of person even
more prone to suspicion. Putting an "Intentionally Blank" notice on
the page helps to

Steve,
You haven't told us what operations you are performing that cause FM to
use the unwanted fonts, but the software does not rely on any particular
fonts.

Hi -
My client wants to link from an HTML webpage to a specific page in a
PDF doc. The PDF is created from FrameMaker. Anyone know how to do
this? Thanks.

Well I appreciate that. It seems there are half a dozen places you can
go to tell Frame what you want relative to font usage. It's never
really clear to me which one of those is in control. I did manage to

That's not what I said. I changed every font to Arial in every file in
my book via MIF, using search/replace. If I understand MIF, that should
have changed everything - Master Pages, Formats, etc. Upon opening
those files, I got warnings that Frame was going to have to substitute
