pasting text from FM to FM

When I have 2 instances of FM open and I copy text in one FM and paste the text in the second instance of FM, the formatting disappears even though the same pgfs are used in both places. Even tables lose their tableness. What is happening here and how can I fix it? TIA Leah Smaller Technical

Hello Framers, With Windows XP I am using Control Panel Regional and Language Options. I click the Advanced tab and choose a language from the Language for non-Unicode programs menu. I need to know what key this is stored under in the registry. If someone can steer me in the right direction,

Note that the maker.ini change does *not* do what you actually asked about. The change does not change the order of items in the list in the Paste Special dialog. What it does change is the default behavior of the *regular* paste command (Ctrl+V or EditPaste). If you change the maker.ini

The behavior you are seeing is because you are using two separate instances of FrameMaker, so that the copy/paste operation has to use the Windows clipboard. If you copy and paste between two different document windows in the same instance of FrameMaker, the copy/paste operation is completely

I think the value is stored in the ACP (ANSI code page) key under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\CodePage My standard system has 1252 (Western European) and my Trad. Chinese system has 950 for this key. The character set used in the Command Prompt window is stored in the
