I usually print our Users Guides to ps file and then distill with Acrobat
Distiller to get a pdf file. Always works - except today...
Framemaker froze after I clicked Print in the print dialog. No error message
was generated; nothing indicated that
Have you looked at creating PDFs of ver A and ver D. Then using Acrobat to do
the compare?

through MIF: saving all the files and the book file out as .MIF, open the .MIF

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody is using the Structure current document
functionality in FM8 to structure imported Office 2007 documents, and
whether this method can be recommended, or whether there are
shortcomings that one should know about before going down this route.

I appreciated all the help a couple of weeks ago on text insets and
scripting. Now I have new questions related to a new client that is using
SolidWorks CAD to create graphics for me to use in FM.
So far I've tried importing graphics saved from SolidWorks as
I just ended a year-long gig that included this, and the workflow we
developed was:
1. Get the free Solidworks viewer application. (There's a free
explorer tool that's also useful.)
2. From the Viewer, print the Solidworks file to an Acrobat printer
instance to create a PDF using the appropriate

that. Sorry!
I got another message offlist about changing my Distiller options. Duh!! I
did that, and the .tif in the PDF output from FM now looks quite good.

I have been producing PDF files from FrameMaker 7 for some time and have
just recently experienced this problem. After I produce a pdf file I
will clean it up by deleting some blank pages within the document. When

We have templates that were created in Frame 6.0 and updated in 7.1. I?ve been

I have imported many "graphics" from Solid Works. One of the problems with
Solid Works drafters is that they love their rendered drawings.
If you can use line art they can export from Solid Works non-rendered, hidden
lines hidden, iso (or whatever consistent angle you want) pdf files
