Ok, I see now how in the Find window, you specify Character format > Blue
and Underline.
But I still don't see how you specify the new style to apply to all the hits
you get from the Find.

I am dealing with a whole lot of inherited documents, and I am not about to
change the naming of all the styling.
I would prefer just doing Ctrl+Some_Key. That's the fastest.

This would be a nice item to place on a the Adobe wish list. They should
be ordered alphabetically or by the way they are listed in the book.
Anything is better than a random order. The same with the paragraphs in
the list on the right.

format. The command to use is Edit>Copy Special>Character Format.

I would love it if the list of paragraphs would be alphabetic. That's a

* This is a highly recommended way to name paragraph tags and character
tags. It also works well with variables.
* The underscore in Stuart's example is only one way to set up the names.

lot of chapters and their filenames to make them easier to follow.
Unfortunately, along the way a lot of x-ref markers were lost. I don't think
there is any way to undo that damage, so they just have to be re-linked. On

I normally open the book file and then open all files in the book by holding
the shift key and selecting Open All Files in Book. That opens the files in
order.

then the MIF method may be the easiest way to go.
If you had renamed the chapters from the book the cross-references would have
been automatically recreated and it would have saved you all of this work.

If these links worked in the past, what changed that could cause them
to fail? Did you move or rename a directory, or files? Change
computers? Take the files from a server to a local drive, or
vice-versa?
Or, could it be the snow?
