I'm running Fm 9.0p255 (9.0.4) on Windows XP, SP 3 with 3GB of RAM.
When I start Fm9 after I have started some other programs first (Outlook,
Acrobat, Firefox, Chrome...), Fm9 crashes right after it has started, even
when I close all the other programs and try again. Fm9 doesn't crash

version of Acrobat Pro 9. All crashes immediately disappear. Life is good.

It appears I'm not missing any settings; several people reported that they
encounter the same thing, and the solution is to add some padding to the cell
margin.

No, Adobe does not care to make such a statement. Dov said he argued
with them to do it and they didn't.
If you have both and they don't cause a problem, why change? OTOH, if
you're having some issues and you can't pin them down, why not
uninstall Reader?
