Acrobat X Pro Crashing

Has anyone else had issues with Acrobat X Pro crashing? Mine seems to crash under two conditions, if I'm working extensively with comments or if I've been making a lot of searches. My warning sign is that things start to disappear from the GUI, usually icons but sometimes text. We're not talking

I you are really using 10.0.0, then you nearly two years behind in updates. The current version is 10.1.4 from just a few months ago. Get this update either internally from within Acrobat using Help=Check for Updates or go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5444 and
