Topic-based and structured authoring offer many advantages, especially with

Shmuel,
If you are using FrameMaker 9, 10 or 11, you can use View-Pods-Insets and set
your display for graphic insets (for doc or all docs). If you click on the
*name* field, it will create a display, sorted alphabetically. Although you
cannot print this display, you can make screen captures.
Used to be (at least as of FM8), if you distilled a document that had
an SVG in it, text in the graphic would be searchable in the PDF. This
doesn't seem to be the case in FM10. Is there a distiller setting I'm
missing? I really, REALLY need that text to be searchable in the PDF.

Never mind ... it looks as if the issue is not with Frame, but with
the SVG export from Visio. We're not sure what's causing the problem,
but we have confirmed that some SVG graphics distill with searchable
text from FM to PDF, and others don't.

Maxwell, I had NO idea that this was possible. I've never used the
View->Pods commands because I thought it just referred to text
insets, which I rarely use. The Insets pod will indeed be very
valuable and will relieve me of generating temporary lists to see
what graphics are in a file. Thanks
