Is there an entry for FrameMaker in the Add/Remove Programs control
panel? If so, try to uninstall using that.

Trial version was installed onto the VM too I take it?
So maybe your profile was replaced with the trial version. I suggest you
get a chat session going with an Adobe tech and sit back and get
comfortable.
