As this was a new style, I'm not sure that "as is" would be applicable...? And there wasn't any text in the paragraph when I created the style. I copied in text that I "cleaned" in Notepad first (the text contained both upper and lower case). I'll try Winfried's MIF suggestion later today. Aliso

The "as is" attribute is used to specify that the style will not affect the given property when the style is applied to existing text. If the property is set to either "yes" (checked) or "no" (unchecked), it will either apply or clear that characteristic fro the text when the style is applied.
